Zero (0) Interactive Processor Feature

Troubleshooting

Problem

This document describes what Zero (0) Interactive Processor Feature means.

Resolving The Problem

A zero interactive processor feature means that adequate interactive processing is only available for a single 5250 job to perform system functions. More than one interactive job may be active; however, only one job may be doing transactions at a time.

If the system exceeds the 5250 Interactive Threshold, server model behavior will begin. All the Interactive jobs will decrease in band level until reaching internal priority of 89 and will experience poor performance until under the threshold.

Work With System Activity (WRKSYSACT) will show the internal priority of the jobs.

The system may also post message CPI1479 Interactive activity approaching installed capacity in QSYSOPR message queue and is repeated every 60 minutes until the interactive activity on the system is reduced below the threshold value.
