Troubleshooting
Problem
After you upgrade Db2 Big SQL on Cloud Pak for Data from version 4.0.x to version 4.5.x or 4.6.0, queries on tables that use escaped identifiers for column names or the following column types might fail.
-
Using the TIMESTAMP data type with a scale specifier (for example, TIMESTAMP(6)).
-
Using the DECIMAL data type without specifier, or with only a scale specifier (for example, DECIMAL, DECIMAL(16)).
-
Using complex types.
Symptom
Errors such as the following example appear in the bigsql.log file:
com.thirdparty.cimp.catalog.TableLoadingException: The table definition statement failed because some
functionality was specified in the table definition that is not supported with the table type. Unsupported
functionality: "\"timestamp(6)\" DATATYPE".
