SAV Command Fails with CPD3823 EC0002 - File "< R02M00505000000000" Not Saved

Resolving The Problem

During a system backup, the SAV command to save IFS objects fails with message CPD3823 for multiple objects. For example:

Message ID . . . . . . :   CPD3823       Severity . . . . . . . :   30
Message type . . . . . :   Diagnostic
Message . . . . :   File "< R02M00505000000000" not saved.
Cause . . . . . :   File "/QIBM/ProdData/Java400/com/ibm/as400/system/QSF492975769JV10004R02M00505000000000"
was not saved because it has an associated Java program that could
  not be saved. The error code is X'0002'.  Common error codes are:
    -- 0001: The Java program is in use and could not be locked.
    -- 0002: The Java program target release is more recent than the
                target release on the SAV command.

From the above file name, it can be deciphered that the object was for the following:

PTF: SF49297
Product: 5769JV1
Release: V4R2M0
Type: 5050 which is code for program

At V6R1 and higher of the installed operating system, PTFs or programs for Java product 5769JV1 at V4R2 are obsolete and can be deleted. To resolve the error, you should delete the objects listed in the cause of message CPD3823.
