Graph History Explained: Circles, Triangles, and Squares

Troubleshooting

Problem

This document explains that granularity of graph history graphs changes after detailed data is gone, resulting in one hour averages.

Resolving The Problem

Granularity of graph history graphs changes after detailed data is gone, resulting in one hour averages.
Collection points on the graph depend on the following:

oWhat the collection interval was for the metric that was collected.
oIf the time period is within the number of days, which graph detailed data will be kept. If the time period is less than 30 days, the point is a square or triangle. Whether the point is a square or a triangle depends on the collection interval and the interval to be displayed. If the interval to be displayed is larger than the collection interval, the collection point will be a triangle instead of a square.
oIf the time period is beyond the number of days that the graph detail will be kept, the collection point is a circle, and the collection interval is one hour.
