PH51336: JVMSERVER.PROPERTIES FILES PREFIXED WITH LAST DIRECTORY NAME FROM WLP_OUTPUT_DIR

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• jvmserver.properties files were introduced by PH46591/UI80736 in
  order for CICS to track when maintenance was applied to Liberty
  files installed as part of CICS. Each time a Liberty JVMSERVER
  is enabled CICS checks to see if there have been changes, if so
  CICS starts Liberty with the --clean argument to tell Liberty to
  clear its cache.
  
  When WLP_OUTPUT_DIR is set in the JVM profile these may be
  resolved to the wrong directory with an incorrect file name, for
  example:
  
  WLP_OUTPUT_DIR=/directory/path
  
  The file created would be /directory/pathjvmserver.properties
  rather than /directory/path/jvmserver.properties
  

Local fix

Problem summary

  *                      incorrectly named and placed in a       *
  *                      directory based on the WLP_OUTPUT_DIR   *
  *                      JVM server option.                      *
  ****************************************************************
  When using WLP_OUTPUT_DIR in a JVM Profile without specifying a
  trailing /,the jvmserver.properties file would be incorrectly
  created.
  
  For example:
  
  WLP_OUTPUT_DIR=/directory/path
  
  The file created would be /directory/pathjvmserver.properties
  rather than /directory/path/jvmserver.properties
  

Problem conclusion

• CICS has been updated to ensure that jvmserver.properties will
  be created in the correct place.
