Problem

This document explains that a reboot or restart pending message may appear during installation of IBM i Access Windows package

Resolving The Problem

This document explains that a reboot or restart pending message may appear during installation of the IBM i Access Windows package.

When installing the IBM i Access Windows package, a Reboot pending message may appear resulting in the installation being aborted. Rebooting the PC has no effect on the message.

When this occurs, you should check the following registry path:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager
1. Look for the following key: PendingFileRenameOperations
2. Right-click -> Rename.
3. Add a prefix ### and press Enter.
4. Close regedit and attempt the installation. Note: Make sure to go back and remove the ### prefix.
The installation should continue.
