Abstract
Enterprise Load Balancer (ELB) on v11.5 and above Central Manager (CM) is not compatible with some older Windows S-TAP versions.
Content
Environment
- Windows S-TAPs with versions containing the problem are connected to ELB on the CM
- The symptom will start when CM is upgraded to v11.5
Symptom
- ELB will no longer be able to connect to the affected S-TAPs to provide new collector information in case of load balancing or failover request
- The S-TAPs will remain connected to collectors based on the current S-TAP settings at time of CM upgrade
- The S-TAPs will continue to collect traffic
Fix
- The following Windows S-TAPs versions contain the fix:
- v11.3 - v11.3.0.321 and above
- v11.4 - v11.4.0.267 and above
- v11.5 - All versions
- To prevent the problem, update to a Windows S-TAP version with the fix before upgrading CM to v11.5
