Troubleshooting
Problem
This document provides a resolution for a situation where NetServer failed to start with message CPIB683 RC6 RC3423 logged in the QSYSOPR message queue.
Resolving The Problem
CPIB683 RC6 RC3423 means that the NetServer is partially started; however, it failed to start completely. To correct the problem, you should end the NetServer and start it with a reset through Operations Navigator or through the use of the following CL commands:
CALL QZLSENDS PARM(x'00000000')
CALL QZLSSTRS PARM('1' x'00000000')
If this fails to start the NetServer and you still have the same return and reason codes on the CPIB683, you should take the following steps:
CHGPJE SBSD(*LIBL/QSERVER) PGM(QZLSFILE) STRJOBS(*NO)
ENDPJ SBS(QSERVER) PGM(QZLSFILE) OPTION(*IMMED)
Then repeat:
CALL QZLSENDS PARM(x'00000000')
CALL QZLSSTRS PARM('1' x'00000000')
If NetServer starts successfully, you should take the following steps:
CHGPJE SBSD(*LIBL/QSERVER) PGM(QZLSFILE) STRJOBS(*YES)
STRPJ SBS(QSERVER) PGM(QZLSFILE)
If NetServer still fails to start and you still have the same return and reason codes on the CPIB683, you should call your iSeries Support representative.
