How to Download an IBM Resave or I_BASE Image from the ESS Web Site

Problem

This document describes the process of downloading an IBM Resave or I_BASE image from the Entitled Software Support Web site.

Resolving The Problem

This document describes the process of downloading an IBM Resave or I_BASE image from the Entitled Software Support Web site.

To download the latest Licensed Internal Code (LIC) resave, go to the Entitled Software Support (ESS) Web site and download it as follows:
 
2. Sign in with your IBM id and password.
3. Select "My entitled software"

4. If you need to register your customer number, select "registered" link, otherwise select "Software Downloads"

5. From the drop-down:
  • Customers: Select your customer
  • Category: Select "IBM i"
  • Group: Select the Operating System release, and click on the magnifying glass icon.

5. Select "5770-SS1 IBM i" and click continue:

6. Confirm language groups and click continue

7. Select "packages" next to Licensed Mach. Code vxx.xx.xx,ENU.DVD, select
I_BASE_01_Licensed Machine_code_RS_7xx-x, then click "continue".

NOTE: If you want this to be in USB format, select the following:

8. Select "I agree"

9. Select the method of Download, in this example the selection is "Download using your browser (HTTPS)"

10. Click on the down arrow to download to your PC.

Note: This image will need to be unzipped before downloading to your IFS, or burning to an image catalog.
