QRECOVERY is used for system journaling and for holding objects from failing processes.
Library QRECOVERY (or iASP equivalent):
QDBAL* - ALTER TABLE status files
QDBIX* - Create index build status files
QDBJRN - used to journal the system cross-reference files in QSYS
QDBJRNXRFQ - journals the data queues that send and receives data for programs that updates the entries in the cross-reference files.
QDBRG* - Reorganize status files
QDBTI* - Omnifind text index build status files
QADBERAP - Asynchronous index rebuild
(EDTRBDAP equivalent)
QSQ901S - SQL -901 Lo
QDBJRN and QDBJRNXRFQ journal receivers are also housed in qrecovery.

QDBJRN and QDBJRNXRFQ journal receivers are also housed in qrecovery.
Status files (QDBTI*/QDBRG*/QDBIX*/QDBAL) are owned by the user that ran the index build, alter table or reorg. If there are no locks on the objects they can be deleted or owner changed if the current owner is being deleted. The files may remain on the system if the process was long running and they can be viewed for historical purposes.
Note: You should not use the library QRECOVERY because it is intended for system use only. The library QRECOVERY contains objects that the system needs to operate properly.
Note: Some 3rd party applications have historically created objects in QRECOVERY. The application vendor should be contacted for instructions on management of these objects'.
