Problem

Message CPA5305: Record not added. Member QAS9HOST is full on QS9PALMON joblog.                                           

Diagnosing The Problem

To address the error in the QS9PALMON joblog regarding the QAS9HOST file in QSRVAGT library, check the following:

DSPOBJD OBJ(QSRVAGT/QAS9HOST) OBJTYPE(*FILE) DETAIL(*SERVICE)
Verify that the System level is the same version as the OS.  
Check the same for the QAS9MEDIA file:  
DSPOBJD OBJ(QSRVAGT/QAS9MEDIA) OBJTYPE(*FILE) DETAIL(*SERVICE)
Verify that the System level is the same version as the OS.  

Resolving The Problem

If the files (one or both) are NOT the same level as the OS, delete or rename the QAS9HOSTLF and QAS9HOST files and let the system re-create them, and clear the QAS9MEDIA file:

While signed on with a user profile that has *SECOFR authority:
  • ENDSRVAGT (or GO SERVICE option 8. End jobs)
  • RNMOBJ OBJ(QSRVAGT/QAS9HOSTLF) OBJTYPE(*FILE) NEWOBJ(QAS9HOSTLO)
    - or - DLTF FILE(QSRVAGT/QAS9HOSTLF)
  • RNMOBJ OBJ(QSRVAGT/QAS9HOST) OBJTYPE(*FILE) NEWOBJ(QAS9HOSTO)  
    - or -  DLTF FILE(QSRVAGT/QAS9HOST)
  • CLRPFM FILE(QSRVAGT/QAS9MEDIA) MBR(QAS9MEDIA) 
  • STRSRVAGT TYPE(*SBSJOB) (or GO SERVICE option 9. Start jobs)
  • GO SERVICE option 12. Change product activity log analysis, accept the defaults. Press ENTER
  • GO SERVICE option 14. Display audit log, specify B in the Position to line. Press ENTER.
    Check whether any errors logged against the QAS9HOST or QAS9MEDIA files.
  • If not, monitor to see if message CPA5305 is issued again in the QS9PALMON job.
NOTE: 
If QAS9HOST file is not created right away, it will be created next time it finds an entry on PRTERRLOG.
If the files are at the same level as the OS, clear the physical file members or change the file to reuse deleted records.

To clear the physical file members:
  • CLRPFM FILE(QSRVAGT/QAS9HOST) MBR(*FIRST)
  • CLRPFM FILE(QSRVAGT/QAS9MEDIA) MBR(QAS9MEDIA) 
To change the QAS9HOST file to reuse deleted records (no need to change the QAS9MEDIA file for this step):
  • CHGPF FILE(QSRVAGT/QAS9HOST) REUSEDLT(*YES)
  • Monitor to see whether message CPA5305 is issued again in the QS9PALMON job.
