Problem
This document gives the instructions for collecting a trace for Developer Workbench issues
Resolving The Problem
Setup your scenario so are you as close the recreation steps as possible
A. Start the trace
1. Go to PC start menu
2. Select All Programs
3. Select DB2 Web Query for i
4. Select DB2 Web Query Developer WorkBench xx for WebQuery yy (where xx and yy vary on Web Query release)

4. Select DB2 Web Query Developer WorkBench xx for WebQuery yy (where xx and yy vary on Web Query release)
5. Select DB2 Web Query Developer WorkBench Utilities
6. Select Communication Layer Trace
This will bring up a dialog box.
7. Clear the Trace
8. Note where the trace file will be stored. You will use it in step D below.
9. Select to turn the trace On
10. Ensure the Trace Level is set to All Levels (bottom selection)
11. Select OK
B. Recreate the issue
C. End the trace
1. Go to PC start menu
2. Select All Programs
3. Select DB2 Web Query for i
4. Select DB2 Web Query Developer WorkBench xx for WebQuery yy (where xx and yy vary on Web Query release)
5. Select DB2 Web Query Developer WorkBench Utilities
6. Select Communication Layer Trace
This will bring up a dialog box.
7. Select to turn the trace off.
D. Send data to IBM
You should then be able to attach that trace file (or a zipped version of it if it is too large) and upload to your Case.
