IBM Explorer for z/OS Aqua 3.3 installation packages for IBM Installation Manager require 3.3.1

Problem

IBM Explorer for z/OS 3.3 packages will not install using IBM Installation Manager.

However, it is now possible to install packages based on Eclipse 4.23 using IBM Installation Manager from IBM z/OS Explorer Aqua 3.3.1 and future releases.

Cause

A limitation in IBM Installation Manager prevents successful installation of any packages based on the Eclipse 4.23 version.

Because of this limitation, IBM z/OS Explorer Aqua 3.3.0 will not offer installation packages for IBM Installation Manager until a compatible version of Installation Manager is established and tested.

Resolving The Problem

It is now possible to install packages based on Eclipse 4.23 using IBM Installation Manager from IBM z/OS Explorer Aqua 3.3.1 and future releases.

If you must use Aqua 3.3, the following options can work around this issue:

- Install the package via Eclipse p2. For instructions, see Aqua Download Site.

- Install the package into an existing Eclipse. For instructions, see Aqua Download Site.
