APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The policy rule generated by mmbackup contains an
    EXTERNAL LIST rule that instructs mmapplypolicy
    to call BAexecScript which is also generated by mmbackup.
    One of the options passed to the script was
    -auditlogname which is a deprecated function.
    

Local fix

  • Remove "-auditlogname=<XXX>" option from EXTERNAL LIST rule
    

Problem summary

  • The policy rule generated by mmbackup contains an
    EXTERNAL LIST rule that instructs mmapplypolicy
    to call BAexecScript which is also generated by mmbackup.
    One of the options passed to the script was

Problem conclusion

  • This problem is fixed in 5.1.5 PTF 1

    Benefits of the solution:
    The BAexecScript in mmbackup command will handle
    the user-defined policy with old format.
    
    
    Work around:
    Remove "-auditlogname=<XXX>" option from EXTERNAL LIST rule
    Problem trigger:
    This problem occurs if user-defined policy is used with
    -P option, and the policy contains -auditlogname option,
    and the Scale version is 5.1.4.0, 5.1.4.1, or 5.1.5.0.

    all platforms that support mmbackup
