LI82690: THE SITE UPGRADES FAIL DUE TO DISABLED FORUM MODULE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• sites that are having forum module disabled fail to upgrade or
  restore. We do support disabling forum module and documented in
  our KC https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/api-connect/10.0.1.x?topic=fo
  rums-turning-off-in-developer-portal. This is now on IBM to
  better handle upgrades and restores if the forum module is
  disabled so that the operation doesn't fail because of it.
  

Local fix

• Workaround:
  1)Just before we upgrade, store the information if
  the forum module is disabled.
  2)Enable the forum module just
  before upgrading.
  3)Once upgrade is complete, re-disable the
  forum module if it was disabled before.
  

Problem summary

• Developer Portals will fail to upgrade if the forums module is
  disabled prior to upgrade.
  

Problem conclusion

• The forums module will be enabled for upgrade and re-disabled if
  required post upgrade. Fixed in API Connect v10.0.5.1 and
  v10.0.1.8
