DESCRIPTION: OpenSSL could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system, caused by an integer overflow in codebase. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code on the system with elevated privileges.

CVEID: CVE-2016-2178
DESCRIPTION: OpenSSL could allow a remote attacker to obtain sensitive information, caused by an error in the DSA implementation that allows the following of a non-constant time codepath for certain operations. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability using a cache-timing attack to recover the private DSA key.

Affected Products and Versions
Releases 7.1, 7.2 and 7.3 of IBM i are affected.
Remediation/Fixes
The issue can be fixed by applying a PTF to IBM i.
Releases 7.1, 7.2 and 7.3 of IBM i are supported and will be fixed.

Important note: IBM recommends that all users running unsupported versions of affected products upgrade to supported and fixed version of affected products.
