Troubleshooting
Problem
System Distribution Directory Information is difficult to completely save, when the system is not in restricted state. This information resides in QAOK* files in library QUSRSYS . These objects are often in use when a user or application profile enrolled in the System Distribution Directory, has an active job(s) on the system.
Symptom
During SAVLIB LIB(*NONSYS) or SAVLIB LIB(*ALLUSR) or SAVLIB LIB(QUSRSYS) the following messages are found in the job log:
CPF32B3 and CPF3741 message pairs for QAOK* objects, followed by CPD3796 for library QUSRSYS.
Cause
These QAOK* objects are often in use when a user or application profile enrolled in the System Distribution Directory, has an active job on the system.
Resolving The Problem
System Distribution Directory Information is difficult to completely save, when the system is not in restricted state. System Distribution Directory Information, stored in QAOK* files in library QUSRSYS can only be saved with confidence, when the system is in restricted state.
Historically, all of these objects in library QUSRSYS were saved when some or all of the following subsystems were ended: QCMN, QINTER, QSERVER, QSNADS, QSYSWRK.
As applications became more sophisticated and business demands required some of these subsystems to remain active, other combinations of ending subsystems, ending select TCP servers and ending Mail Server Framework (MSF) have been identified.
For example:
End subsystems: QSNADS and QSERVER
End TCP servers: *SMTP, *MGTC, *DIRSRV
End MSF
When save of all QAOK* objects in library QUSRSYS cannot be achieved while the system is NOT in restricted state , then a change of backup strategy may be required.
For example:
Perform a more frequent restricted state backup of only hard to save objects and libraries.
Omit these hard to save objects and libraries from the daily backups, which do not restrict the system.
The combination of what may work in your environment to save all the QAOK* objects in QUSRSYS has to be determined through experimentation and it may not be possible to do this without taking the system to restricted state.
