Missing Requisites reported during a VIOS update. What should I do?

Cause

Certain filesets are obsolete.
Filesets were not installed during VIOS update (e.g  from 3.1.1.21 to 3.1.2.10) due to requisite failures. Following is a sample output of what may be seen in install.log

Depending on the VIOS level, one or more of the LPPs below may be reported as "Missing Requisites", and they may be ignored.
The following list applies to VIOS 3.1
