Rational Testing Tool License Error After Product Upgrade

Troubleshooting


Problem

Following a product upgrade to version 10.2.1 or later, attempts to use product generate an error dialog.
This is known to affect the following products (and may impact others):
  • IBM Rational Performance Tester (RPT)
  • IBM Rational Functional Tester (RFT)
  • IBM Rational Integration Tester (RIT)
  • IBM Rational Test Virtualization Server (RTVS)

Symptom

The error dialog reads "Failed to obtain a valid license. Verify whether the licensing server contains appropriate licenses to run the tests."
