Abstract
Microsoft is removing the ability to connect to its mail services by using Basic authentication effective 1 October 2022 as outlined in this article. This removal impacts IBM RPA bots that use one or more of the following commands to connect to Microsoft's email servers: imapConnect, exchangeConnect, or smtpConnect.

On September 1st, 2022, Microsoft updated its statement communicating that users can opt-in to use Basic Authentication until the end of 2022.
Description
IBM aims to release a new version 21.0.5 in September 2022 to address the basic authentication removal issue. The new version will require customers to update commands to use the new authentication method.
Recommended Action
Be prepared to update the client software to the new version and adjust the scripts to use the new authentication method.

IBM's plan to release IBM RPA 21.0.5 with support for OAuth 2.0 and ongoing support for Basic Authentication still remains.
