LTP WILL NOT EXTEND - Message EQQ0543E

Resolving The Problem

MESSAGE EQQ0543E LTP END DATE - LTP START DATE > 4 YEARS

This message is issued by the LTP BATCH EXTEND JOB (EQQLTMOA) when the "EARLIEST NON-COMPLETED OCCURRENCE IN THE CURRENT PLAN" date (ENCO) as displayed on OPC ISPF dialog panel EQQLSTAP (dialog option 2.4) is equal to, or more than, four years earlier than the requested new LTP END DATE.

The LTP retains all scheduled work with I/A data more recent than the ENCO date, and there is an architectural limit of no more than 48 months between the earliest and latest dates in the OPC LTP.

To correct this problem, the following three steps must be taken:

1. In TWSz ISPF DIALOG OPTION 2.4 (panel EQQLSTAP, check the date listed for EARLIEST NON-COMPLETED OCCURRENCE IN THE CURRENT PLAN.

2. Display all occurrences in the CP older than the ENCO date via MODIFY CURRENT PLAN Dialog option 5.2 (panel EQQMOCCP) and either COMPLETE or DELETE them as appropriate.

3. Run a CURRENT PLAN EXTEND or CURRENT PLAN REPLAN batch job to physically remove the old completed/deleted occurrences from the CP dataset and update the ENCO date in the LTP HEADER RECORD.

4. Recheck the ENCO date via dialog option 2.4 and repeat steps 1 and 2 as necessary.
