Netcool Support's Guide to Object Server SSL/TLS Configuration

Question & Answer

Question

Are there any example configurations for configuring the aggregation object servers for SSL?

Cause

There area few ways the Netcool/OMNIbus multitier system can be configured for SSL.
There are extra considerations for Java and supported TLS versions.

Answer

The typical configuration of Netcool/OMNIbus object server SSL certificates is to use the object server name for the common name and label.
There are property settings to allow the use of different settings for both the certificates common name and stores label.
Extra increased security is possible with options on the GSKit commands, Java security, and Netcool/OMNIbus configuration files.
