EYUPARMs STALLILKTSK and STALLILKCNT for IRLINK suspends not specified or are set too low.
APAR PQ45793 added two new EYUPARMs STALLILKTSK and STALLILKCNT for IRLINK suspends. The APAR allows for more granular checking for link stalls. The new code separates the CICS ALLOCATE and IRLINK suspends into separate stall detection classes.
The STALLILKTSK EYUPARM identifies the number of concurrent tasks in CICS currently suspended with a resource type of IRLINK. For example, if the STALLILKTSK=10, CICSPlex SM (CPSM) checks at each 15 second heartbeat to see if there are 10 tasks in an IRLINK suspend. If so, EYUPN0005W is issued indicating an IRLINK stall has been detected.
The STALLILKCNT EYUPARM identifies the number of consecutive occurrences a task has been found in the same IRLINK suspend. Each occurrence is checked at the 15 second heartbeat. For example, if STALLILKCNT=5 then if task 2692 was in an IRLINK suspend for the last (5 X 15 seconds) 75 seconds, then a stall is detected for IRLINK and message EYUPN0005W is issued.
