Summary
Under certain conditions it may be necessary to manually remove ATAP.
One example is the database was patched or upgraded with ATAP active.
It is recommended to deactivate ATAP before patching the database. But if the database was patched or upgraded with ATAP activated, then deactivate will do the recovery/repair automatically. The only step needed is to deactivate ATAP in case the database was patched or upgraded with ATAP active.
Here are the steps to remove ATAP manually.
