Using IBM Salesforce Connector App with IBM Business Automation Content Services on Cloud

Summary

IBM Salesforce Connector App supports the use of IBM Business Automation Content Services on Cloud or the content capabilities in IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation as a Service as a repository for Salesforce attachments. This document provides the steps for installing and configuring the app to use this feature.

Objective

Before you begin
The steps described in this document are based on the FileNet Salesforce Connector Configuration Guide. Download the latest version of the documentation (FileNetSalesforceConnectorInstallationGuide.pdf) from the IBM GitHub site.
Important: IBM Salesforce Connector App supports basic authentication only.
About this task
To install and configure the IBM Salesforce Connector App, complete the following steps:
  1. Get the Salesforce Organization URL configured for your cloud subscription.
  2. Prepare the Content Services environment.
  3. Prepare the Salesforce Organization.
  4. Configure the Salesforce Organization to use object stores.
  5. Configure basic authentication.
Procedure
1. Getting the Salesforce Organization URL configured
Before you can work with the IBM Salesforce Connector App, open an IBM Support case to get the Salesforce Organization URL configured for your cloud subscription.
2. Preparing the Content Services environment
Refer to the Preparing the Content Platform Engine environment section of the Configuration Guide for the following steps.
  1. Deploying the Content Services GraphQL API
    Skip this step. The API is already installed on your cloud subscription,
  2. Complete the Installing the Salesforce Integration Extensions Add-on files step as described.
  3. Complete the Setting permissions on document classes for use in Salesforce step.
    For cloud subscriptions, the #AUTHENTICATED_USERS group is the ECMoC_Client_CPE_User_<env> group, depending on the environment:
    • ECMoC_Client_CPE_User_dev
    • ECMoC_Client_CPE_User_test
    • ECMoC_Client_CPE_User_run
  4. Complete the Configuring properties to be synchronized with fields on Salesforce records step as described.
3. Preparing the Salesforce Organization
Refer to the Preparing the Salesforce Organization section of the Configuration Guide for the following steps.
  1. Complete the Installing the FileNet Connector in a Salesforce Organization step as described.
  2. In the Configuring Salesforce after installation step:
    1. For the Creating a CSP Trusted Site for the Salesforce Organization substep, the URL is the host name of your cloud subscription. Depending on how your subscription was set up, enter one of the following URLs:
      • https://hostname.automationcloud.ibm.com
      • https://fncm-environment-hostname.automationcloud.ibm.com, where environment has the value dev for the development environment, test for the test environment, or run for the production environment.
    2. Skip the SSL Certificate requirement on the Content Services GraphQL Service substep.
    3. For the Configuring Salesforce to all Resource Sharing (CORS) substep, the URL is the host name of your cloud subscription. Depending on how your subscription was set up, enter one of the following URLs:
      • https://hostname.automationcloud.ibm.com
      • https://fncm-environment-hostname.automationcloud.ibm.com, where environment has the value dev for the development environment, test for the test environment, or run for the production environment.
    4. Complete the Configuring Authentication to the IBM Content Services GraphQL Service step as described.
    5. Complete the Configuring Salesforce users who have administrator access for the Connector step as described.
    6. Complete the Configuring Salesforce users who have non-admin access to IBM FileNet documents step as described.
4. Configuring the Salesforce Organization to use object stores
Complete the steps in the Configuring the Salesforce Organization to use object stores of the Configuration Guide as described.
5. Configuring basic authentication
Your cloud subscription supports basic authentication in all environments. Refer to the Configuring basic authentication section of the Configuration Guide for the following steps.
  1. For the Configuring a Salesforce Named Credential for the FileNet server step, use one of the following URLs: Where environment has the value dev for the development environment, test for the test environment, or run for the production environment.
    • https://hostname.automationcloud.ibm.com/dba/environment
    • https://fncm-environment-hostname.automationcloud.ibm.com
  2. For the Configuring IBM FileNet Salesforce Connector authentication - per user step, the following applies:
    1. Before users can update their Salesforce settings:
      • The account administrator for your cloud subscription must assign Salesforce users the Salesforce Users role. For more information about assigning roles, see Assigning roles and permissions.
      • Each Salesforce user must log into the subscription and set a tools password for the IBM Salesforce Connector App. For more information about tools passwords, see Password management.
    2. Each Salesforce user must complete the Configuring IBM FileNet Salesforce Connector authentication - per user step: 
      • The username is the user name used to access the cloud subscription.
      • The password is the tools password set in the cloud subscription.
