Troubleshooting
Problem
IBM does not support the replacement of transceivers (SFPs) on certain Fibre Channel and Ethernet adapter features. Ethernet features sold specifically for copper media do not support conversion to optical.
Cause
The following IBM POWER Fibre Channel adapter features do not support the replacement of transceivers (SFPs) even if they are removable. A separate part for the SFP does not exist, and cannot be ordered.

The following IBM POWER Network adapter features do not support the replacement of transceivers (SFPs) even if they are removable. A separate part for the SFP does not exist, and cannot be ordered. Ethernet adapters that are sold for use with Copper attachment cannot be converted for use with optical transceivers.

IBM provides adapters with optical transceivers that are qualified by our vendors for use with the specific product. IBM is unable to support the replacement of transceivers due to this qualification.
