Abstract

This document describes how to download maintenance packages and interim fix packages for IBM Spectrum Protect backup-archive client 8.1.15.x.

Check the following sections to determine for this IBM Spectrum Protect backup-archive client level:

Packages on PTF distribution website

All IBM Spectrum Protect backup-archive clients maintenance packages and the interim fixes can be accessed by using the PTF distribution website. The HTTPS link in the section "Download package" directs to the PTF distribution website. Follow the HTTPS link to download IBM Spectrum Protect clients 8.1.15 (8.1.15-TIV-TSMBAC).

However, these maintenance packages and interim fixes available through PTF distribution website do not contain the required license enablement files. For initial installation of IBM Spectrum Protect backup-archive clients, you must obtain your packages, with the associated license enablement files, from the Passport Advantage Online website.  


 

Packages on Fix Central online

To get the most current features and enhancements, it is required to update IBM Spectrum Protect backup-archive clients from a previous version or release. Maintenance packages and interim fixes are delivered on Fix Central. The HTTP link in the section "Download package" directs to the Fix Central online website.

However, these maintenance packages and interim fixes available through Fix Central do not contain the required license enablement files. For initial installation of IBM Spectrum Protect backup-archive clients, you must obtain your packages, with the associated license enablement files, from the Passport Advantage Online website.


 

Packages on Passport Advantage Online

The Passport Advantage Online website has complete packages of IBM Spectrum Protect backup-archive clients for download. To download IBM Spectrum Protect clients 8.1.15, using the Passport Advantage® Online website, see IBM Spectrum Protect 8.1.15 Clients.
The packages available through Passport Advantage are the base level packages. For any maintenance packages and interim fixes, check Fix Central or PTF distribution website.

Download Package

The HTTP link in the Download Options column directs you to the following sites:

  • PTF distribution website:
    PTF distribution website provides fixes for maintenance packages and interim fix packages, and the corresponding autodeploy packages. 
  • Fix Central online website:
    Fix Central provides fixes and updates for your system's software, hardware, and operating system. Fix Central is a secure website that requires you to log in using your IBMid. You can acquire an IBMid at  Sign up to IBMid.
    You can locate the packages on the Fix Central online website by using the product name, version, and platform as the search query. For example, use the "IBM Spectrum Protect".
Reminder: The packages available through Fix Central do not contain license enablement files. Install previous a base level package before you use these packages.

Packages for level 8.1.15:

  • Fix pack IBM Spectrum Protect backup archive clients 8.1.15: Available 29 June 2022 all platforms
  • Interim fix 8.1.15.1 - Available 12 August 2022 for all Linux
  • Interim fix 8.1.15.2 - Available 27 September 2022 for all platforms
