IJ40334: MISMATCHING USER AND PERSON ID'S IN MAXIMO WILL STOP WORK CENTERFROM SHOWING WHO UPDATED THE LOG WITH A COMMENT.

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If the Users record User and Person field have mismatched
    values, Maximo will not display the name of the user when they
    update a comment in the service request application in work
    center.
    
    
    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
    
    If we do not already have a user with a mismatched person id,
    one will need to be created.
    
    1. Create a new user and provide a user name, tab.
    
    2. A pop up will ask if a Person record should be created, say
    yes.
    
    3. In the person field, make sure to change the name so it does
    not match the user name. Add all other needed information and
    save.
    
    4. Log into maximo as Maxadmin and create a new service request
    and add a comment to it as needed, check visible and save.
    
    5. Log into maximo as the different user created earlier and
    add a comment to the same service request created earlier.
    
    6. Open work center and access the inspection center and bring
    up the SR created earlier and look at the comments. When we
    hover over the comment add by the user with the mismatched user
    name and person id their name is not shown in the application.
    
    RESULTS:
    
    Only the Maxadmin entry is showing as their user id and person
    id match. Since the new user has mismatching records the comment
    does not show who created.
    
    
    EXPECTED RESULTS:
    
    That the name of user would be shown like the other entry that
    was made.
