Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of the High Performance Change * * Accumulation Utility of IMS Recovery * * Solution Pack for z/OS Version 2 Release 1 * * ( FMID=HAHM210 ) who use Extended Batch * * mode. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Spill files of log records created in * * the main address space were deleted * * before starting the sort process task * * in the subordinate address space. * * As the result, the sort process task * * could not find the spill file and * * reported message IKJ56228I * * ( MSGIKJ56228I ), then it issued ABEND * * S0C1 ( ABEND0C1 ). The HP Change * * Accumulation job eventually terminates * * with RC=20 . * * In addition, this APAR also fixes * * following: * * - Message number HPC3501E is changed * * to HPC3801E * * - ABEND code 3501 is changed to 3801 * * - Avoid the spill file creation task * * issuing ABEND U3800 ( ABENDU3800 ) * * RSN3 when there is no log record for * * a CA group. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: INSTALL CORRECTIVE SERVICE FOR APAR/PTF * **************************************************************** Spill files of log records created in the main address space were deleted before starting the sort process task in the subordinate address space. As the result, the sort process task could not find the spill file and reported message IKJ56228I ( MSGIKJ56228I ), then it issued ABEND S0C1 ( ABEND0C1 ). The HP Change Accumulation job eventually terminates with RC=20 . Subtasks scheduled within the main task share and use the work area prepared by the main task. The problem was caused by the spill file creation task using the spill file I/O control block of the work area without initializing it. Once that work area was used by the log read task, CLOSE=FREE flag was remained then the spill file was deleted as CLOSE=FREE at the file CLOSE macro. In addition, this APAR fixes follows: - Message number HPC3501E is changed to HPC3801E - ABEND code 3501 is changed to 3801 - Avoid the spill file creation task issuing ABEND U3800 ( ABENDU3800 ) RSN3 when there is no log record for a CA group.
Problem conclusion
When a spill file creation task is started, it initializes the parameter list of OPEN and CLOSE macro. If there are no log records for the CA group, bypass the unnecessary DEVTYPE macro for spill files not created by the task.
