Server Install/Upgrade fails with installp: CANCELED because file sets upon which they depend are not installed

Troubleshooting


Problem

IBM Spectrum Protect server Install/Upgrade fails due to missing AIX requisite file set.

Symptom

In the IBM Installation Manager /var/ibm/InstallationManager/logs/native folder, the YYYYMMDD_HHMM.log shows the following error:

0503-205 installp: The installation of the following filesets will be CANCELED because file sets upon which they depend are not installed (or not completely installed):
File set GSKit8.gskcrypt64.ppc.rte 8.0.55.19 requires: * bos.rte 7.2.1.0
