Report fails to run with error RSV-SRV-0040 CCL_ASSERT(pUserSessionID)

Troubleshooting


Problem

When attempting to run a report in Chrome, user receives error saying:
RSV-SRV-0040 The report server encountered an internal error. Check additional information associated with this error message. If cause of problem cannot be ascertained, increase the logging level in the IBM Cognos administration tool and reproduce the conditions that caused the error. If the problem persists, see the problem determination information on the IBM Cognos Support Portal page at http://www-947.ibm.com/support/entry/portal/Overview/Software/Information_Management/Cognos_Business_Intelligence

Symptom

Log errors:
Error1:
DPR-ERR-2077 Failed to forward the request because the associated external process with PID 20532 is unavailable, either because the process is shutting down, or this was an absolute affinity request and the requested process does not exist anymore. For more information, enable the dispatcher and the external process detailed logs, and reproduce the conditions that caused the error.
Error2:
Audit.RTUsage.RSVP Response ReportService Failure RSV-SRV-0040 The report server encountered an internal error. Check additional information associated with this error message. If cause of problem cannot be ascertained, increase the logging level in the IBM Cognos administration tool and reproduce the conditions that caused the error. If the problem persists, see the problem determination information on the IBM Cognos Support Portal page at http://www-947.ibm.com/support/entry/portal/Overview/Software/Information_Management/Cognos_Business_Intelligence. CCL_ASSERT(pUserSessionID);
Other:
BIBUSTKserverMain process crashes. This process is linked to the report service. If this crashes, other concurrent reports running on the same process will also fail.
