This document provides guidance on increasing the maximum heap memory available to the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) which runs the Virgo component on the IBM Spectrum Protect Plus server, recommended settings corresponding to different system memory sizes, and additional requirements for using the optional file indexing feature. This procedure is only applicable for implementations where the IBM Spectrum Protect Plus server runs as a virtual appliance.
