APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • MQ uses an internal error condition to handle fatal errors.
This error condition is known as STOP_ALL.
If this error condition occurs, the queue manager stops.

The problem can be identified if the STOP_ALL error condition
shows up in an FFST file:
    | Major Errorcode :- STOP_ALL
    | Minor Errorcode :- OK
    | Probe Type :- HALT6110
    | Probe Severity :- 1
    | Probe Description :- AMQ6110: An internal IBM MQ error has
    occurred.

The queue manager creates an error message in the AMQERR* log
    file:

    ACTION:
IBM MQ will stop all MQ processes. Inform your systems
administrator. When the problem is rectified IBM MQ can be
    restarted.

Local fix

  • In this case the queue manager needs to be restarted using
    strmqm.

Problem summary

  • The handling of the STOP_ALL error condition leads to a self
    initiated queue manager stop.

Problem conclusion

  • The queue manager has been improved and initiates a takeover
    instead of a stop.
The takeover procedure stops the Execution Controller primary
    process.
The Execution Controller backup process takes over, becomse the
new primary and starts another backup.
