You are in: IBM i Technology Updates > General IBM i Operating System > SMTP enhancements: forwarding emails automatically and supporting flexible sender email
These two enhancements are added by two new parameters FORWARDING and ORIGINATOR in CL command ADDUSRSMTP and CHGUSRSMTP.
For the FORWARDING enhancement, when FORWARDING SMTP user A is configured for a SMTP user B by ADDUSRSMTP or CHGUSRSMTP CL command then mail sent to user B can be automatically forwarded to user A.
For the ORIGINATOR enhancement, ORIGINATOR can be used to specify who the "From:" field in MIME file will be displayed as. If the current sign-on user profile differs from ORIGINATOR then the "Sender:" field will appear in MIME file as the current sign-on user profile. If current sign-on user profile is the same user profile with ORIGINATOR, "Sender:" field won’t appear in the MIME file.
Refer to What's new for V7R5, ADDUSRSMTP, CHGUSRSMTP in the IBM i Documentation for additional details.
These two enhancements provide more flexibility for customer on IBM i mail-sending experience.
