Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server Liberty Profile for z/OS using z/OS * * Connect and Websphere Local Adapter * * features with CICS. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: CICS ASRA abend when processing a z/OS * * Connect HTTP GET request with no * * payload. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** A CICS ASRA abend takes place when a HTTP GET request with no payload is sent through z/OS Connect (using the invokeURI attribute under zosConnectService element in the configuration file), z/OS Connect's WebSphere optimized local adapters (WOLA) service provider, and WOLA to invoke a program running in CICS. More specifically, the problem happens when the program attempts to set a response payload to a COMMAREA that was wrongly set to be of length zero.
Problem conclusion
Code was added to the z/OS Connect WOLA service provider to allow a COMMAREA of the correct length to be set. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 8.5.5.8.
