CNC-SDS-0423 Email attachment exceeds size limit

Troubleshooting


Problem

The email is not sent by Cognos Analytics because it says it exceeds the maximum size limit of the attachment. 
However, when the attached report is saved to disk, it is a smaller size than what is defined in Cognos as the maximum.  Why is it still failing?

Symptom

Error message:

CNC-SDS-0423 The attachment in <csv, xls, pdf, html> format, of size <N> MB was missing from the request. It was probably removed due to exceeding a maximum size setting on the sending service.
