Error description
When stopping SNA, it is possible the snatnsrvr_mt process can enter a loop for a period of time, causing the following messages to be logged thousands of times: In sna.err: SNAPATH Message 16388 - 8, Subcode: 0 - 0 Log category: PROBLEM Cause Type: External System: snalab1 Process ID: 5439972 (snatnsrvr_mt) I/O Error during Stream IOCtl or FCntl. Errno = 9 (Bad file number) Cause: The Stream to the SNA software has reported an I/O error. Action: Check the operating system return code shown; check for other messages providing more information about the failure. In sna.aud: TNSERVER Message 4102 - 15, Subcode: 1 - 0 Log category: AUDIT Cause Type: Audit System: snalab1 Process ID: 5439972 (snatnsrvr_mt) TN Server stopping - system termination message received. Cause: The SNA software has been stopped.
Local fix
Problem summary
The snatnsrvr_mt process can enter a loop when "sna stop" is issued while there is a tn3270 connected with an active LU-LU session.
Problem conclusion
The TN Server code has been changed to ensure the snatnsrvr_mt process is terminated when this streams error is detected during termination of SNA.
