General checks that could be done upon seeing a SQL DB connection failure with Protocol errors.

Troubleshooting


Problem

During JTS setup from web UI, on the Database Configuration page, the Connection to the SQL Server Database fails with the following error message:

The server was unable to connect to the database because the database connection settings are invalid or the database is unreachable(SQLSTATE: 08S01, SQLCODE: 0). Verify the connection settings in your teamserver.properties file. ID CRJAZ2654E.

For the time of error on web UI, the console.log shows an SSL-related error.

Error in the console.log:

Caused by: java.io.IOException: CRLQE0424E An error occurred instantiating database, Cannot create PoolableConnectionFactory (The driver could not establish a secure connection to SQL Server by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption. Error: "SQL Server did not return a response. The connection has been closed. ClientConnectionId:942341f6-407b-48e2-94b8-3b8d26f21576".).
