Abstract

This document describes the minimum system requirements for IBM® Content Manager OnDemand for i, Version 7.5. For installation requirements and additional information, refer to the V7.5 Read This First document.

Content

The exact configuration you need to support your environment with satisfactory response time will vary, depending on the size of the objects you are working with and other factors. Individual display response times vary depending on workstation speed, memory, size of objects, and network and server workload. The minimum recommended configurations that follow need to be evaluated and adjusted according to your unique requirements. Disk space recommendations are for the product installation and working space only. The actual hard disk space required varies, depending upon your installation. See the hardware and software requirements links below for more information.

In addition to the details below, also note the following important prerequisite information:
  • If you are upgrading from a previous version of IBM Content Manager OnDemand, you must be running Content Manager OnDemand server version 10.1.0.4 or later before you upgrade to Content Manager OnDemand for i V7.5. For instructions on how to determine your current server version, see the Content Manager OnDemand for i: Common Server Planning and Installation Guide.
  • Content Manager OnDemand client software must be upgraded to version 9.5.0.0 or later before you upgrade to Content Manager OnDemand for i V7.5. This includes, but is not limited to, the OnDemand Windows (end-user) client and the ODWEK Java APIs. If you use IBM Content Navigator (ICN), see the appropriate documentation for that product to determine minimum software requirements. You should upgrade to IBM Content Navigator (ICN) either before or at the same time you upgrade to V7.5.
  • The OnDemand Administrator client must be at the same major version or later as the Content Manager OnDemand server. For Content Manager OnDemand for i V7.5, the server version is 10.5.0.4 or later. The 10.5.0.3 version or later of the OnDemand Administrator client is recommended with Content Manager OnDemand for i V7.5.
  • Content Manager OnDemand system administrator authority is now required to perform all of the operations provided by the Content Manager OnDemand component of IBM Navigator for i, not just for the creation of migration policies.
