Abstract

This document describes how and where to download the installation images for IBM Spectrum Protect™ for Databases 8.1.14

Download Description

Tip: The product now known as IBM Spectrum Protect was named IBM Tivoli Storage Manager in releases earlier than Version 7.1.3. To learn more about the rebranding transition, see: Tivoli Storage Manager branding transition to IBM Spectrum Protect.


 

IBM Spectrum Protect for Databases 8.1.14 contains the following components:

  • Data Protection for Microsoft SQL Server 8.1.14
  • Data Protection for Oracle 8.1.13

Tip: Customers who do not already use a component at the 8.1.0.x level must obtain a base image, with license enablement file, from the Passport Advantage Online website.

Maintenance Packages through PTF Distribution website

All Data Protection for Microsoft SQL Server and Data Protection for Oracle maintenance packages can be accessed by using the PTF website for maintenance deliveries. The HTTPS link in the section "Download package" directs to the PTF website.

Maintenance update packages require an existing 8.1.x installation on the machine because the PTF maintenance update packages do not contain the license enablement files required to use the component. If this is your initial installation of Data Protection for Microsoft SQL Server or Data Protection for Oracle on a host, you must obtain your packages, with the associated license enablement file, from the Passport Advantage Online website.

The Passport Advantage Online website has the complete set of images of IBM Spectrum Protect for Databases 8.1.14 for download. The HTTPS link in the section "Download package" directs to the Passport Advantage Online website.

Note: The "All Requirements" document provides links to the Hardware & Software requirements for other releases of IBM Spectrum Protect for Databases, and its components, and platforms.

Download Package

The provided HTTP link in the following Download Options column directs you to the Passport Advantage Online website. Passport Advantage is a secure website that requires an account ID and password. It makes all of the component and platform images associated with IBM Spectrum Protect for Databases available for download.

Note: The following Passport Advantage link specifies "Windows" but the site allows you to access all images associated with either component of IBM Spectrum Protect for Databases 8.1.14 regardless of platform.

You can locate images on the Passport Advantage Online website by using the part number as the search query. For example, to locate the IBM Spectrum Protect: Data Protection for Microsoft SQL Server 8.1.14 on Windows, use CC36JML as the search query. You can also search by product name or component name.


 

How critical is this fix?

No vulnerabilities are identified in IBM Spectrum Protect for Databases 8.1.4.x
