While testing an upgrade to PCOM 14.0.4 32-bit level, users encountered an intermittent crash of PCSWS.EXE emulator. The Windows Event Log shows the failure is in AUTSESS.DLL.

This issue seems to occur with only certain hotfixes of Windows 10 Operating System.
Problem conclusion
AUTSESS.DLL has been changed to validate pointers to avoid Null Pointer exceptions.
