IT39659: IBM SPECTRUM PROTECT PLUS CONTAINER BACKUP SUPPORT JOB FAILS WITH MESSAGE 'NONETYPE' OBJECT DOES NOT SUPPORT ITEM ASSIGNMENT

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The IBM Spectrum Protect Plus Container Backup Support job to
  backup or restore Persistent Volume Claims (PVC) or namespace
  resources ends with the error message: 'NoneType' object does
  not support item assignment. The error message will appear after
  approximately 15 minutes have passed into the job and the job
  will end.
  

Local fix

• Delete the transaction-manager pods will cause a restart of the
  containers and clear the state that caused this error. The
  following command will delete and let the transaction-manager
  pods restart.
  
  kubectl delete pods --namespace baas --selector
  app.kubernetes.io/component=transaction-manager
