Summary
In some cases, when deploying objects between Cognos environments, it may be necessary to retain the ID of those objects.
Failing to retain an object ID may result in that object losing its link to associated objects. For example, if a report uses a data module as a data source, and the report and data module are deployed to a new environment, that report will no longer run successfully unless the IDs remains consistent.
