Summary
The IBM Telco Network Cloud Manager - Performance is affected by a security vulnerability. Apache Log4j is used by IBM Telco Network Cloud Manager - Performance as part of its UI service. This bulletin provides remediation for the vulnerability, CVE-2021-44228 by upgrading UI service of IBM Telco Network Cloud Manager - Performance and thus addressing the exposure to the log4j vulnerability.
Vulnerability Details
CVEID: CVE-2021-44228
DESCRIPTION: Apache Log4j could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system, caused by the failure to protect against attacker controlled LDAP and other JNDI related endpoints by JNDI features. By sending a specially crafted code string, an attacker could exploit this vulnerability to load arbitrary Java code on the server and take complete control of the system.
Note: The vulnerability is also called Log4Shell or LogJam.

Remediation/Fixes
If you have one the listed affected versions, it is strongly recommended that you apply the most recent security update to UI service:
Apply the following updated UI service image by navigating into tncp product namespace -> statefulset -> ui
- If the product is deployed on Openshift env then use following image => cp.icr.io/cp/tncp/basecamp-ui:2.4.1.0-1176-d1695e07@sha256:7ca8da7f0b02b0423e93a60ad7e197338c0b24db3ff1060a2e664f7b21cb91d8
- If the product is deployed on Kubernetes environment then use following image : docker.io/persistentsystems/basecamp-ui:2.4.1.0-1176-d1695e07@sha256:7ca8da7f0b02b0423e93a60ad7e197338c0b24db3ff1060a2e664f7b21cb91d8
