APAR status

  • Closed as new function.

Error description

  • Change packages support the INSTALL, NEWCOPY and DISCARD
processing of CSD changes into the runtime CICS environment for
remotely managed regions. If the remote CICS region is inactive,
processing fails to those regions as the connection is
    unavailable.

The enhancement provides a user selectable option to ignore
processing for those unavailable connections, thereby avoiding
errors and user action. The option suits installations where
stopped CICS regions are resumed with START=COLD or
START=INITIAL processing, thereby installing resources afresh.

Problem conclusion

  • CICS Configuration Manager is enhanced. An option may be set
via the TSO/ISPF online dialog or CCVBMAIN batch utility control
cards to ignore processing for undefined or unavailable
connections for change package INSTALL, NEWCOPY or DISCARD
    processing.
