This document details the Hardware and Software requirements for Data Protection for HCL Domino 8.1.13.

IBM Spectrum Protect™ for Mail: Data Protection for HCL Domino® 8.1.13 supports valid HCL Domino environments that meet all requirements defined by that product, and also meet the specific requirements listed in this document.

Software requirements

The following information describes the minimum operating system and software requirements when you use Data Protection for HCL Domino 8.1.13.

Operating environments

Data Protection for HCL Domino supports HCL Domino environments where the native HCL Domino database is used.


 

Installation prerequisites

For the Linux x86_64 platform:

The following prerequisites are required by the product installer:  Java JRE 7 and later 7.x levels

For the Windows x64 platform:

The following prerequisite is required, and is installed automatically by Data Protection for HCL Domino 8.1.13, if not already present on your machine.

  • 64-bit Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable Package
    Available from: X:\domino\windows\x64\client\ISSetupPrerequisites\Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Service Update 1 Runtime Libraries (x64)\vcredist_x64.exe
    Note: "x" in the path represents the drive letter where the product DVD is mounted.

Note: Some of the prerequisites defined in this document might require a system restart. To avoid a system restart, ensure that the prerequisite is installed before you start the Data Protection for HCL Domino installation process.


 

More software requirements

More requirements for the use of the Java GUI interface:

HCL Domino requires certain versions of Java runtime environment. To use the Java GUI interface with Data Protection for Domino, which also requires Java, you must use the version of Java required by Domino. HCL Domino includes Java as a part of its installation. Therefore, ensure that you are using a level of Java that is compatible with the level of the HCL Domino used in your environment.
 

For all 64-bit platforms:

  • 64-bit IBM Spectrum Protect API Client 8.1.13 or later, or 8.1.13.x update levels, releases, and versions
    Note: The 64-bit IBM Spectrum Protect API Version 8.1.13 is included and automatically installed with Data Protection for HCL Domino on the Windows x64 platform.
     

For all platforms:

  • Any IBM Spectrum Protect currently in support, which is supported by the version of the IBM Spectrum Protect API Client, or IBM Spectrum Protect backup-archive client, used in the environment

Hardware requirements

The following information describes the minimum hardware and disk space requirements when you use Data Protection for HCL Domino.

  • Optionally: At least 12 MB of disk space for each language lack to be installed (there are 13 available).

  • 64-bit x86 based PC architecture hardware (such as Pentium)
  • 64-bit AMD64/EM64T architecture hardware
  • Compatible hardware supported by the operating system and HCL Domino
Disk space
  • A minimum of 20 MB of disk space
  • Optionally: At least 10 MB of disk space for each language lack to be installed (there are 13 available).
Note: Some of the prerequisites defined in this document might require a system restart. To avoid a system restart, ensure that all of the minimum software requirements prerequisites detailed in the Installation prerequisites section of this document are installed before you start the Data Protection for HCL Domino installation process.
On Windows x86_64 platform Minimal requirement

  • Compatible hardware supported by the operating system and HCL Domino
Disk space
  • A minimum of 80 MB of disk space
  • Optionally: At least 25 MB disk space for prerequisites included in the installation package (which are installed automatically if they are not already installed on the system).
  • Optionally: At least 6 MB of disk space for each language lack to be installed (there are 13 available).
Note: The installation package includes the previous referenced prerequisites, which are installed automatically if not already installed onto the system. Installation of the prerequisite might require a system restart. To avoid a system restart, ensure that all of the minimum software requirements prerequisites detailed in the Installation prerequisites section of this document are installed before you start the Data Protection for HCL Domino installation process.
