Abstract

The TS7700 Virtualization Engine introduces a new modular and scalable architecture to the tape Virtualization market, allowing you to better customize the system to meet your particular requirements. The TS7700 Virtualization Engine implements many of its predecessor's 3584-related capabilities and improves on VTS technology. Specific functionality and enhancements include: A maximum of 600 MB/sec peak data throughput, 6 TB of high performance cache and 4Gb FICON® host attachments. Supports attachment to the IBM System Storage™ TS3500 Tape Library (TS3500 Tape Library) through the IBM TotalStorage 3953 Library Manager Model L05 (3953 L05 Library Manager), with the 3592 (TS11xx) tape drive. Advanced policy management functions includes but not limited to volume pooling, dual copy,
logical volume size and multiple reclamation policies.
