Error description

  • When you run the steps below, you may terminate more instances
    than what is displayed.
    1. In Process Admin Console Process Inspector, filter the
    instances by process application and snapshot. This would list
    the corresponding instances.
    2. In this example, the process application has two snapshots,
    each snapshot has three active instances.
    3. You select one snapshot, it displays three active instances.
    4. You uncheck the filter and click the "Select all instances"
    button, three active instances are selected.
    5. You try to terminate the three active instances, the popup
    message shows three instances to terminate.
    6. You confirm. All of the six instances of the two snapshots
    are terminated.

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is available or will be available that provides the
    following changes.
    1. Refresh the instance search result panel when changing any of
    the filter selections.
    2. Refresh the instance search result panel when performing
    single instance or multi instance actions.
    3. Disable "Select all instance" button in Process Server server
    by default. You may enable it by setting <enable-bulk-actions>
    (default value is false) property value to 'true'.
    4. Introduce a new configuration property
    <bulk-action-instance-limit> (default value is 1000) to limit
    the maximum number of instances allowed to perform the bulk
    actions.
    5. When running action "Select all instances", the maximum
    number of instances can be terminated is set by
    <bulk-action-instance-limit> value.
    6. When neither "Process Application" nor "Snapshot" is
    selected, clicking "select all instances" button to perform
    actions is not allowed.
    7. When you click "Select all instances" button, the first
    dialog displays the filters being selected. User needs to
    confirm the number of instances to be impacted based on the
    current filter selections.
        The second dialog informs user if the current count and
    previous count are consistent, informs user that the number of
    instances will perform the action. The amount is the less number
    of selected instances and the value of
    <bulk-action-instance-limit>.
    8. When you click "select shown instances" button to perform
    Terminate or Delete action, the numbers of instances are listed
    for each process application.

    It is optional to enable the "Select all instances" button by
    updating the 100Custom.xml.

    perform the action when you use "Select all instances", the
    default value is 1000-->

    instances" button in Process Server environment, the default is
    false -->

    merge="replace">true</enable-bulk-actions>
