Problem
LDAP or Active Directory namespace fails with an AAA-LPS-0005 error when the namespace is tested, or Cognos ™ services are started after a content manager installation is configured to use 3rd party certificate
Symptom
Symptom 1:
An LDAP ™ or Active Directory ™ namespace verification fails with this message:
AAA-LPS-0005 Unable to communicate with legacy namespace server, it may have become unavailable. Please try again later.The following screen capture is from a scenario where the error was observed while content manager service was starting.
Symptom 2:
Failure to start content manager service can be another symptom of this problem. In the following screen capture, the dispatcher is shown as "started" (highlighted in blue), but services proceed to shut down (highlighted in red)
Symptom 3:
Eventually, services appear started. When the Content Manager URI is accessed directly in the browser over HTTPS, the URI appears "Not secure". The certificate is seen as "Invalid" as shown in the following screen capture
The certificate presented to the browser is revealed to be the default ("self-signed")
