How to merge iBase records (entities or links) that are on an i2 Analyst's Notebook chart?
Objective
You are working on an ANB chart, with iBase records (entities and links).
You see that 2 (or more) entities (/links) are the same and should be merged in the iBase database.
The process is not trivial, and this document explains how to do it.
Note : The possibility to merge Links in iBase was introduced in iBase 9.0.0. In the previous versions, it was only possible to merge Entities.
Steps
1. Select the entities (/links) on the ANB chart you want to merge.
2. On ANB, go to the Analyze menu, and then in Merge and Combine
3. Depending on what is currently selected, the options will be different.
- If you selected 2 or more Entities, the option Merge Entities will be available
- If you selected 2 or more links (having the same entities at the end), the option Merge Multiple Links will be available.
4. Select the resulting merged ANB record (entity or link).
5. On the iBase panel, go to the Selection tab.
6. If you are merging Entities, click the Merge in iBase command.
If you are merging Links, click the Merge Links in iBase command
7. You must then define which record will be the target of the merge.
8. The merge is done.
